Belfast Ultimate Summer League Returns!
Returning for its second year Belfast Ultimate Summer League will run from mid-June through to the end of August. Games will take place on Tuesday evenings in Ormeau Park (mostly;-). The league is for 5-a-side teams and the teams are open for men and women to play. For more information on the specific rules for the tournament check out the rules section.

Ultimate or Ultimate Frisbee is a fast, athletic team sport where fair play is necessary as there are no referees. Along with the winners of the league an award will be given for the 'Most Spirited Team' an award highly prized as it recognises the team that most appreciates essence of the sport.

I didn't see much of this game, so can't comment on it's entirety. This is what I recollect.

It was a cold wet day that saw many of Northern Irelands finest players competing in the last day of Summer League to see which team would win the Belfast Ultimate Summer League 2008.

To cut a long story short, CHASE won all their games, winning Summer League in the process. LDW took 2nd and SOTG.

We had heard the rumours that they were like energiser bunnies on speed but they started slowly, very slowly, wet batteries probably. In fact they didn’t even show up for our 11am game so it wasn’t until about 2pm that we managed to reschedule the game and boy did we regret it!
