Not since General Custer said "Who fancys a picnic at this Little Big Horn place" has anyone seen such a one sided battle as that witnessed last night when The Swerve met Kebab Hammer!
I knew we were in trouble when I ran over that solitary magpie on the way to Ormeau and it only got worse when I noticed that there were 10 Swerve players and only 4 Kebab Hammers. Luckily the French Connection came through for us and Lauren arrived at the last minute so there was no time for Darragh's team talk but then he hadn't shown up so we escaped that one!
The Swerve, suitably dressed all in black, started at anything but a funeral pace and scored 15 unanswered points! There is not much else to say apart from that The Swerve played some sensational ultimate, it was a rare point when we actually touched the disc for more than 2 passes. There were some moments of brilliance from Kebab Hammer as well which amounted to a whole 4 scoring opportunities! At one stage we even had them on the rack but then they subbed their whole team and we were back in the merde again!
We can console ourselves with the fact that what doesn't kill us only makes us stronger so look out for a stronger Kebab Hammer on Super Saturday!
