Easter Special

Is it called 'Easter Special' or 'Love Easter'? Who knows.

Love Easter (the name is up for grabs - anyone do better?!) is returning for its second year. It's on Easter Saturday, the 11th April, at 10am at the Stranmillis Embankment beside the PEC. We'll provide a basic lunch (bread, ham, chocolate bars, bananas etc) and some team water (and maybe some shelter... anybody got a gazebo?)

Five-a-side teams. Team fee is £20.

Awards 2008 - And the winners are...

Well those who were at the social on Saturday already know who the winners are. First I'd like to thank everyone who voted and everyone who put up with me nagging them to vote. I'd also like to thank Garry for organising a great social. Coyles was a great venue; the atmosphere was great, with Radiohead playing in the background; the food was delicious; and the staff there were excellent. They even put up with us firing little disc type things around the room. Those who weren't there really missed out.

Belfast Ultimate Nominated For 2008 IFDA Award

Once in a while, it's nice to get a bit of recognition and especially if it's from those on high. And so it was this year for Belfast Ultimate which was nominated for Biggest Contribution to Ultimate in Ireland by the Irish Flying Disc Association, the governing body for Ultimate in Ireland.

CHASE win Summer League 2008

It was a cold wet day that saw many of Northern Irelands finest players competing in the last day of Summer League to see which team would win the Belfast Ultimate Summer League 2008.

To cut a long story short, CHASE won all their games, winning Summer League in the process. LDW took 2nd and SOTG.

We're Up and Running!!

Mark it in your diaries, 10th June 2008 at 7pm was the beginning of the second largest Ultimate Frisbee League in Ireland!! Ok, there isn't a lot of competition with just the one other league in Dublin but nonetheless an occasion to be proud of. An exciting event showing how Ultimate is growing in Belfast and beyond.

On this occasion just four teams were required for the two matches. On one pitch The LDW took on Deep Heat whilst on the other CHASE played Kebab Hammer.

Exhibition Day - 31st May 2008

On Sat 31st May, some of us (I think there were around 20 at one point) met up at various public locations around Belfast to promote ultimate. We played some 3 on 3 matches and showed off our new banner. It was a scorcher of a day.

Be sure to check out the image gallery, especially the video of Adam's layout.
